Hartley House has a full program of activties. Our programs are tailored to individual needs and capabilities, combined with group activities that that include as many residents as possible. Working together with staff the well being coordinators aim to offer every resident meaningful interaction. The level of interaction varies according to their needs and abilities. We work with families to ensure we understand how best to work with their loved ones.
The program also includes several outings per week. We attend the local school luncheon club every Wednesday, where residents get to meet and interact with friends from the town. We also attend local farm stalls, teashops and pubs, and sometimes just go for a drive.

Thanks to a kind donation from the Friends of Hartley House, we have a large garden chalet which has been equipped to be used for activities and afternoon teas.
All activities are recorded on a daily basis and are tailored to suit the resident’s needs and abilities. We sometimes work one-on-one with particular residents, and at other times have a sing-a-long that involves all the residents. Events such as church services and carol singing are available to all residents who choose to join in.
The themed events such as Halloween, Remembrance Day or Wimbledon teas are especially popular and residents are encouraged to join in making the decorations.
We are especially grateful to a number of volunteers who give their time to assist in the home. If you would like to volunteer, even if it is only occasionally, please contact the Wellbeing Coordinator or the manager. The residents love to see new faces and are happy just to chat to new friends.
